Vibrant festive energy, traditional camaraderie, and cultural heritage came alive at the Bodhana Pastoral Centre on Sunday, August 23, as around 150 youth members gathered from parishes across the eparchy to celebrate Onam. Organized by the youth, for the youth, the day-long event showcased remarkable teamwork, enthusiasm, and active participation. The celebrations were held under the guidance and leadership of Fr. Libin Chakinimanthara, whose direction inspired the young participants to take ownership of every aspect of the program. The day began with an intricate flower carpet competition (Pookkala Malsaram), where youth teams displayed exceptional artistic skill, weaving colorful floral patterns that captured the traditional spirit of Onam. A wide array of engaging traditional and team-building games kept the energy high throughout the afternoon, fostering unity and friendly competition among the participants. The grand finale of the event was the traditional Onam feast (Onasadhya). In a unique spirit of shared fellowship, each parish prepared and contributed specific dishes, coming together to serve a complete, delicious feast for all attendees.
